Duke Primary Care Physician Opportunities
Duke Primary Care was established in 1995 and is one of the state’s largest primary care physician networks. Duke Primary Care plays a key role in Duke Medicine’s clinical care and research, and reflects Duke’s commitment to providing high quality care to its employees and to people in the surrounding communities.
Duke Primary Care is currently comprised of 31 primary care and urgent care practices in seven counties across the Triangle area, including Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Vance, and Wake counties.
The community-based primary and urgent care services are provided by talented clinicians and staff, including more than 200 providers and more than 500 clinical staff. Annually, Duke Primary Care providers see more than 540,000 patient encounters.
Services provided include primary care, preventative medicine, chronic care management, and urgent care for conditions usually seen in family medicine, internal medicine, or pediatric practices.
As part of Duke Medicine, Duke Primary Care providers and practices use the health system’s state-of-the-art electronic medical record system to provide coordinated care for their patients and ensure seamless communication between primary care providers and the network of Duke Medicine specialists available to care for their patients.
For more than 15 years, Duke Primary Care and Duke Medicine have provided practice management support for primary care providers. Duke Primary Care allows providers to focus on their patients, while practice management issues are left to experienced practice administrators. Duke Primary Care provides effective, professional onsite support, removing the burden of human resources, revenue cycle, regulatory affairs, office-based management, and risk management from providers.
Duke Primary Care is accredited by The Joint Commission, and each practice has earned The National Committee for Quality Assurance’s Patient Centered-Medical Home designation. The network’s office-based labs are accredited by the Commission of Laboratory Accreditation, the premier clinical laboratory accreditation organization.
Duke Primary Care has doubled in size over the past seven years and continues to expand current services and explore opportunities to serve additional communities across the region.
